Work hard. Improve. Have Fun!
Academy 1 week - Half Day and Full Day Camps
3-hour half day camp will follow the Session #1 of the overnight camp followed by a World Cup tournament to finish each day.
Full day camps will follow the same structure of the half day camps followed by the session #2 from the Overnight camps.
Overnight and extended day camps
Each day on camp will have 3 sessions. Although the themes of each day will be different the structure will be the same.
Session #1 (Morning Session)
Players stay in their groups and rotate through 6 stations. Station themes for each morning are all technical based and primarily focus on the individual.
Stations:
- Individual Technical - ball mastery, running with the ball etc.
- Passing Combinations/Patterns 1 - Short, small, 1 and 2 touch
- Passing Combinations/Patterns 2 - Longer, driven balls, over distances. Everything is working together, combining, moving, and not just stood pinging balls back and forth.
- Speed, Agility, Coordination. We involve a ball in all of this work.
- Competitive Coordinative Games. Games like handball, soccer tennis, advanced type relay races with soccer themes. We find with older players this helps them engage early in the morning and means 1 station from the 6 is "fun" as opposed to being "coached".
- 1v1's into gates or small goals
Session #2 (Afternoon Session)
Afternoon sessions then transition into the same structure but with tactical themes and finishing. There is a natural transition from what we do in the morning to what we do in the afternoon.
Stations:
- Finishing 1 Close range finishing, in and around the box, finishing from a short combo. Unopposed.
- Finishing 2 Crossing and Finishing. Opposed with defenders.
- Small Sided Game/Scrimmage Open type play into mini goals. Coach determines the structure. Can be 3 minute games, 3 teams one goal and off etc. emphasis on creativity, enjoyment etc.
- Positional Game/Rondo 2 v 2 plus 3 possession game, 3v3 plus 4 structured, 4v4v4 transitional game etc. These games are all keeping the ball, positional based and not going to a goal.
- Flying Changes 2v2, 3v3, 2v2 plus 1 into bigger goals.
- Situational Scrimmages Ideally into 11v11 goals. Coach makes two teams and plays 3 x 5 minute games. Each game has a different situation or scenario for example - One team is winning 2-0. How do you play if you're winning 2-0 with 5 mins left and how do you play if you are losing.
Session #3 (Evening Session)
Tournament time! Each evening will be spent playing games as part of a team and experiencing winning and losing. Players will see how the themes worked on during that day will be used in a game situation.
